See & Do

Water Activity Rental
At the South Sands Hotel you can hire SUP (Stand Up Paddlebaords), kayaks and wetsuits galore
as well as other water sports gear. Its bliss for adults to relax, throw a picnic blanket down or have
a read whilst being enveloped by the salty sea air and majorly protected from the wind by the
sheltered bay.

Across the estuary walk
The stroll takes you along the coastline ending up at Gara Rock Hotel. A gleaming waterside
restaurant that serves up nothing but delicious seasonal menus, all locally sourced food (if it’s not
from their kitchen garden). Once you’ve fuelled up on energy short-cut back not around the coast
but directly down an avenue of trees back to Mill Bay.

Harbour House Yoga
This is a lovely little yoga space for Yoga and Pilates lovers to relax, offering a range of practices with
a fab group of teachers. A perfect place to go and wind down in the evenings with a gentle class.
We recommend always checking the timetable online before heading down there.

Bolt Head and Goat’s Head Walk
A national trust haven - beautiful scenic walks that include some uphill climbs, so be sure to bring
your walking shoes and a pitstop snack for the winding tracks, but as the path falls gradually flat it
is accompanied by rugged coastal views!

Drakes Trail Cycle
Safe, easy and family fun cycling – a half an hour drive to just outside Plymouth is the 21 mile bike
trail to Tavistock. There are plenty of stunning views and well positioned pubs along the way. Our top
tip is to avoid the very beginning in Plymouth and instead start from Coypool Park and Ride (behind
the McDonalds) where you can hire bikes in the car park. If you enjoy cycling you will love this route!
