Warehouse & Materials Handling/Concrete Construction

Starting a New Phase I have come to realization that I love warehouse work. All of it! Seems strange to say that, but it's true. It feels like perfect blend of teamwork and independent thinking. And it is both the same and always changing. I am leaving construction behind and looking for challenging work in the warehouse environment.

💡 Employee Spotlight 💡 It is our great pleasure to introduce you to Rack Store’s very own Warehouse Manager, Jose Belman. Jose began his career in the material handling industry as a pallet rack installation laborer for our sister company, Over the last seven years, his positive attitude, dedication, and commitment to continuous improvement set in motion his journey to the integral leadership role he plays for our team today. We asked Jose to share a bit of insight with the LinkedIn community below.#warehousesolutions #warehouseoperations #leadershipmindset #teamappreciation #palletracking #materialhandlingsolutions What are three of the most important career lessons you’ve learned?1.Working in an environment of strict deadlines taught me how to be self-disciplined.2.Dealing with difficult situations and setbacks instilled in me the courage to overcome any situation.3.Success always comes after failure. If your first few attempts are a fail, then you will continue to gain the knowledge to correct the mistakes you have made until you are successful. What’s the best advice you can give to someone who just started their career in warehouse material handling? It is important to monitor your material handling performance on an ongoing basis so that you can identify areas where improvements can be made. Always look to learn new and better ways of doing different tasks in a safe manner. Efficiency is key in a warehouse environment. What’s been most memorable about your time with C&SS/Rack Store family thus far? What’s been most memorable about my time with C&SS and Rack Store family is seeing myself grow from being an installation laborer, a lead, to my management position. Working up the ladder has helped me grow as a person and worker who is always seeking to contribute more.

The company's largest project in recent years is officially underway: a new 42,500 sq ft warehouse! After months and months of preparation, Barnfield Construction Limited has started the construction of a chilled storage building for us.Once it's up, as Paul Barton, Owner and Managing Director, said: "We will have the capacity to more than double our operations."This new building will include temperature-controlled chambers, offices, and external service yards, and it will be located directly in front of our current 25,000 sq ft facilities in the New Smithfield Market. When the job is finished, a land that currently consists of a car park and a series of industrial units will mark the next big step in 's business, as we aim to expand our capacity for international distribution. In the words of Matthew Barton, Owner and Sales Director:"The construction of the new warehouse will make a big difference in the volume of purchases, sales, and distribution."But this development will bring much more, as it will help reduce truck loading and unloading times, making our operations smoother for the entire team, especially the drivers. We will tell you more about this project soon, but for now, enjoy this video!#warehouseconstruction #newdevelopments #supplychaininnovation #businessgrowth

💡 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐞𝐞 𝐒𝐩𝐨𝐭𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 - 𝐉𝐨𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐧💡Our next employee focus comes from Procurement Manager, Joe Bracken who celebrates two decades with Clancy later this year. ⚫Where are you from?I’m from Thurles in Tipperary. I grew up as part of a large family near Littleton, a small village outside Thurles, and that wonderful family and rural environment. When I got married, I moved to my wife’s locality which is a couple of miles outside Thurles. It is here I had the ideal opportunity to embellish my ‘home’ values and share the joy of starting a new family and later to grandchildren of my own.⚫When did you join Clancy?I joined Clancy in October 2004, so this year will mark a milestone of 20 years with the company.⚫What does a typical day look like for you at Clancy? While each day can bring new challenges, at this stage in my career it would be unusual to come across something completely left of centre. Each day is spent processing material requisitions for sites as raised by the relevant site manager or one of his immediate site team. Processing these requisitions and requesting quotations for same is the starting point of the buying process. Ensuring that best rates are negotiated in line with the Clancy Quality Management System is key to profitable viability, in conjunction with all the other facets of each individual project.⚫What is your favourite thing about Clancy? The one thing that stands out is the ‘family’ feel to the company and something to be cherished. I don’t think it was created or designed by choice; it was more of a natural evolvement which gives Clancy a unique footing in the construction industry. To perhaps fully understand this, you have to go back to its founder, the late John Clancy, who built up his business and passed that tradition and work ethic onto his son’s Gerry, Billy, and Pat, who each grasped the opportunity with equal measure to form the company we see today. That passion and drive continues to be carried on by Clancy’s current Managing Director John O’Shaughnessy and his Board of Directors.⚫Outside of work, what are your favourite hobbies? I enjoy walking, in particular hill walking and the great outdoors, basically anywhere surrounded by nature and natural environment. The GAA which has been a huge part of my life, athletics, and sport in general. ⚫How would you describe the team culture and collaboration within Clancy?I would describe it as very strong in Clancy and a fundamental aspect of the company. It is driven and actively encouraged from boardroom level down. It goes back, I think, to the family value as already mentioned. At the end of the day, we are all on the one team, and we need each other to perform our duties to the best of our abilities each and every day. ⚫Tell us a fact that people might not know about you?I was PRO for Tipperary GAA from 2015 - 2020 and received the national award as PRO of The Year 2020 as voted by the Gaelic Writers Association.

One common mistake in facility planning is when owner-operators purchase a fork hoist prior to finalising their warehouse layout design. This limits the design options and can have a notable negative impact on the facility's capacity and flow. When designing a new warehouse layout, racking and forklift equipment should always be considered together. By taking both into account, you can accurately compare the cost vs. capacity of different designs and strike the optimal balance. For example, lower-cost forklifts often operate in wider aisles, impacting your ability to maximise the capacity of any given facility. When you work with our team, we will consider your specific requirements and budget, and present designs and recommendations for equipment to achieve the best result.Shelving Depot NZ0800 743 584sales@shelvingdepot.co.nz
