Oakley Fall Line Goggles Review
Our Gear
We reviewed a pair of Oakley Fall Line goggles with Prizm Snow Hi Pink Lenses while skiing on a cloudy day in the North East and overall had a great time.
Keep reading for our detailed Fall Line review, and what you can expect from these goggles. Plus for more, check out our full guide to the .
Frame and Design
The first thing you notice about the Fall Line goggles is their oversized rimless design that gives this frame a modern look.
But it’s not all for looks. These goggles are a part of Oakley’s “Line series” which features cylindrical style snow goggles for a close fit that provides a large field of view.
Plus this frame features notches on the inside of the goggles that allow you to comfortably wear your prescription glasses under the Fall Line. While we still don’t love wearing glasses with our goggles, this enhancement definitely makes it more tolerable.
Strap and Comfort
Adding to the comfort of these goggles, the Fall Line has a 40mm wide adjustable strap with a silicone lining that provides a comfortable and secure fit.
We found that the width of the strap helped to disperse the tension across the back of your head even when tightened and was definitely comfortable even during all-day sessions.
The Fall Line also includes a triple-layer face foam on the inside of the goggles that add to the comfort and keep you dry from sweat on hot days. While we didn’t run into this problem during our ski session thanks to the cold, we’ve had great experiences with this signature foam on the Oakley Flight Deck.
Overall, the Fall Line definitely delivered on comfort.
Helmet Compatibility
Oakley markets the Fall Line goggles as being compatible with most helmets thanks to its rimless frame design that doesn’t get pushed down when you put your helmet on.
We had no issues with these goggles and a non-Oakley helmet, so it seems they’re delivering on their promise in this department. But as always if you’ve had issues with helmet compatibility in the past, it’s best to try on goggles in-store with your helmet.
Prizm Lenses
As we mentioned above, we reviewed our Fall Line goggles with Prizm Hi Pink lens and had a blast. But the Fall Line is also available with the full range of Prizm snow lenses.
As we’ve already discussed, Prizm lens technology is the latest innovation in eyewear, offering contrast-enhancing and color optimization. And while Prizm lenses started in sunglasses, they’ve now been specifically tuned for snow conditions with the Prizm snow line.
The Hi Pink lenses we wore are designed for low light and overcast conditions thanks to its 46% Visual Light Transmission (VLT), and they definitely delivered. But if you’re looking for a darker lens for sunny conditions or more all-around conditions, you’ll likely want to check out other Prizm lenses like Prizm Snow Jade, Sapphire, or Black.
And thanks to Oakley’s Ridgelock technology in the Fall Line, you can easily swap between Prizm lenses on the fly.

Ridgelock Lens Change Technology
The Fall Line’s Ridgelock lens change system is designed to allow for easy lens changes using a similar technology to their sunglasses Switchlock system. This technology allows lenses to snap-in and snap-out of your goggles easily, reducing the time to change lenses from minutes to seconds.
We tested Switchlock on our Fall Line and were able to swap our lens from Hi Pink to Prizm Snow Persimmon in about 30 seconds total, once we figured out how it worked.
If you’re a serious skier who is used to changing goggles for varying conditions, this will definitely be welcomed. Especially since replacement lenses can be purchased for much less than a new pair of goggles.
Fall Line Size – Medium vs. Large Fit
Oakley currently offers Fall Line M (Medium) and Fall Line L (Large) sizes to fit a wide variety of faces. These sizes have changed over the year, so you can find the quick translation from previous years to this year below:
- Fall Line M (previously known as Fall Line XM)
- Fall Line L (previously known as Fall Line XL)
The large version is 15-20% larger than the medium size, making it great for bigger heads. But generally, for most people, the medium size will be perfect.

Final Thoughts – Are Fall Line Goggles Worth It?
Yes, overall we had a great time with our Fall Line goggles and would recommend them for any skiers or snowboarders looking for a comfortable rimless frame.
The design of this frame definitely got some compliments on the mountain. But it was really the wide field of view combined with Prizm lenses that made us love these goggles. Especially since they were comfortable and easy to wear all day,
Fall Line vs. Line Miner Comparison
Since both the Fall Line and Line Miner goggles are part of Oakley’s line series, they’re pretty similar but there are some key differences.
Starting with the similarities, both the Fall Line and Line Miner feature a cylindrical-style design for a large field of view. Plus both are made of a flexible O Matter chassis and include Prizm lens options.
The biggest differences between these goggles are their designs and features. The Line Miner features a full-rim design, compared to the Fall Line’s modern rimless appearance. Additionally, the Fall Line includes Oakley Ridgelock technology for easy lens swaps, while the Line Miner doesn’t.
